Prof. Jeen Yoon-tae was Appointed as a New President of the AOCC

 

Asian Organization for Crohn's and Colitis(AOCC) announced that Jeen Yoon-tae, the professor of Dept. Gastroenterology of Korea University Anam Hospital, was appointed as a new president of the AOCC at the 6th Annual Meeting of AOCC held in Shanghai, China on June 21 to 23, 2018.

 

 

The AOCC is an academic society that studies inflammatory bowel disease(IBD), one of intractable and rare diseases, such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, etc. Since its foundation in 2013, experts in the IBD from Asian countries including Korea, Japan, China, as well as Australia have gathered together to play a significant role in analyzing reasons why cases of the IBD increased rapidly in Asia and preparing measures.

 

Prof. Jeen Yoon-tae, a new president of the AOCC, said, “A close cooperation among Asian countries are required for early diagnosis and treatment of patients with the IBD which is rapidly increasing in Asia.”He revealed his ambitions by saying that the AOCC will actively contribute to the development of diagnosis and treatment of the IBD specialized in Asia.

 

Prof. Jeen Yoon-tae, is the president of Korean Association for the Study of Intestinal Diseases and the director of the Dept. Gastroenterology of Korea University Anam Hospital.
