Commendation in Recognition of His Role in
Strengthening the Competitiveness of the
Domestic Medical Devices Industry
Professor Il-Ho Park (Photo) of Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of Korea University Guro Hospital received the Minister of Food and Drug Safety Commendation at the “13th Medical Device Day Ceremony” conducted online via the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s YouTube channel on 20 November (Friday).
Professor Park who also is the head of the Korea University Guro Hospital Medical Device Usability Test Center was chosen as the recipient of the commendation in recognition of his role in strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic medical devices industry and advancing Korea’s society by establishing a safety management system at a clinical field and developing technology for safety and effectiveness verification assessment of domestic medical devices.
Since 2018, he has been leading the Korea University Guro Hospital Medical Device Usability Test Center and the medical device department of Clinical Trial Center, and has been striving for the international standard certification of domestic medical device manufacturers and their competitiveness in global markets. He has been a frontrunner in public health safety improvement by preventing patients’ suffering with the establishment of a systematic medical device safety management system. Moreover, he has contributed to the development of safer medical devices by participating in national research and development of various medical devices as a vice head of the Korea University Guro Hospital IVD Support Center.
“I did not hesitate to undertake difficult tasks if I could contribute to the development of the domestic medical devices industry. I have been fully committed,” Professor Park said. “I will take the commendation as an encouragement to do more, and I will do my best for the advancement of the medical devices industry as a health professional.”
