Thomas J.
Byrne, President & CEO of the Korea Society, visited Korea University Guro
Hospital on 16th, met with Professor Woo-Joo Kim of Infectious Diseases, and
shared ideas on ‘current status and forecasts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Korea
and overseas.’
The Korea
Society was founded in 1957 by General James A. Van Fleet, who commanded the
U.S. armed forces in the Korean War, as a nonprofit organization dedicated to
the promotion of friendly relationships between the people of the United States
and Korea through mutual understanding and appreciation. Since 2015, Thomas J.
Byrne has served as President & CEO, and Kathleen Stephens, former U.S.
Ambassador to Korea, serves as Chair of the society.
